At its regular meeting on August 13, 2025, the Carpinteria Groundwater Sustainability Agency (CGSA) is set to formally consider adopting its new Well Registration and Metering Policy, as laid out in Resolution No. 39. If enacted, this policy will require all private well owners within the Carpinteria Groundwater Basin to register their wells and install a CGSA-approved meter, marking a significant step toward more accurate tracking of groundwater extraction and equitable implementation of SGMA requirement.
